February Happenings in the Graham Library

February is a busy month of celebrations in the library! We're celebrating Black History Month, Lunar New Year and of course, Valentine's Day. Come check out our displays and the latest additions to our collection to support this month's observances including: Out of Wonder, by Kwame Alexander, Facing Frederick by Tonya Bolden, Black Boy Poems by Tyson Amir (local author alert!), a new 30th anniversary edition of The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, Lon Po Po by Ed Young, and Where the Mountain Meets the Moon series by Grace Lin.

For Valentine's Day we have our Love at First Line display ready for an adventurous (or timid!) reader to fall in love with a great book at the first line. Check out our display of books with just the first line displayed on the cover. Can you recognize these books by their first lines? Students are having a great time exploring the display and going on a blind date with a book!

A Love Letter to Your Library

Did a library nurture your love of reading, provide you a place to study and relax or introduce you to new ideas? This month we want to explore the impact libraries have on our lives and tell them just how important they are. Send your library a note to say you care! We welcome you to send your love and gratitude to the champions of reading and tell them why they are important to you!

Download the template below, write your letter and send it straight to your local or school library, or any library that made an impact on your life.
