Message from Mrs. Phelan
Last week we began pool testing our students during school. We had just under fifty percent of our students participate. Both cohort A and B were negative; great news! Thank you to all who have signed up for pool testing thus far. It is not too late to enroll your children in weekly pool testing by filling out the forms here. The test takes approximately one minute and will be administered by our school nurses Kathy Taverna and Bianca Jones. Moving forward, only positive pools and close contacts will be alerted with the weekly testing results. If you do not receive an update 24-48 hours after your child participates in pool testing, it means their pool tested negative. Positive pools will be contacted as soon as possible and given further information and instructions at that time.
The more students who participate in our pool testing, the better are chances we can keep pool samples restricted to class and cohort. If we don't have enough students participating, we may need to combine classes. This increases the chances we would need to quarantine more than one classroom if a pooled sample comes back positive. Please sign up, and it's quick and easy.
Again, if you wish for your student to be tested, please fill out the google form linked above. Please note that pool testing is only offered to hybrid students who participate in IN PERSON learning; we cannot test remote students. For additional information, please also see https://www.smore.com/tve9r issued by Deanne Galdston.
Thank you,
Stacy

PTO Updates
Spirit Week was a lot of fun! Thank you to all the teachers and families who shared pictures of their awesome kids exercising their minds, bodies, and creativity. It was a lot of fun to see everyone cozy in PJs and sharing their love for the arts, reading, and their pets! Check out the Lowell PTO Facebook page and the JR Lowell Elementary School Facebook page to see more special kids!
(If you could please include some cute photos from the week, that'd be great! I sent a bunch along this week. If you'd prefer that I curate those, please let me know.)
