Punctuation
when you Punctuate dialogue, it's important to make sure that you pay attention to where you place your periods or commas. the placement depends on how you write your Dialogue, for example;
Tod said, "Call me back."
in this instance the dialogue tag is at the beginning of the line, so the punctuation mark is inside the quotation . there are a few places you can put the dialogue tag; you can either put it at the beginning of the line, in the middle of the line, or at the end of the line after the person is done speaking.
Quotation marks & formatting
Quotation marks are what defines that a person is speaking. or they can be used as a reference to things other people have said. The Quotation marks that are used for when someone is talking look like "__" and the ones that are references look like '__'
the way you format Dialogue is that everytime someone diferent starts speaking, you start a new paragraph.
“Tom,” She looked at me. “Can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” I replied. “What’s up?”
