How can teachers better support their students?
Consider breaking things up by adding a “Get up and Move” slide throughout a presentation.
There are many options in the link provided below!
Start a Virtual Marathon with your Students!
Start a virtual Marathon with students and encourage them to log their miles walked, miles run or biked. First student to hit 26.2 miles wins!
Send out a Google Form that they can complete and log their activity each day. You will be able to see their progress and know which student wins!

How can students manage their time effectively?
This is vitally important for a child’s mental and emotional health.
The age old question! Here are some tips to help you get some work done everyday and manage your time more effectively.
Don’t sleep until noon! Your body has a natural rhythm, it’s important to find a reasonable time that you can wake up every day so you can get to sleep at night. Remember you should get at least 8 hours of sleep every night.
Break your work up into little chunks of activity. If a teacher has assigned a large assignment, do a little work on it everyday so it seems more manageable.
Set a timer! Force yourself to work for a certain amount of time, take a short break and then get back to it. For example, set your timer for 30 min. When the timer goes off, get up, play with your pet, help your mom or dad and then get back to work!
Your teachers miss you! Just because you aren’t together in school, doesn’t mean teachers have forgotten you! Check in with your teachers - send them an email. Post a fun video of something your dog did. Continue to tell them those funny stories you share when we were in school.
Do something every day! Be sure you are doing some work every day. Your brain needs stimulation.
Get some exercise! You need some kind of exercise every day to stay mentally and emotionally healthy. When you move, blood flows to your brain and actually helps you think better and do better in school.

What parents can do to support their students?
During this unique situation, students will really need the support from home to ease their fears and to get their work done. Parents can do a lot to assist teachers with this
Have daily chats about what work was assigned and what they’ve gotten done
Encourage students to reach out to teachers if expectations or assignments are unclear
Reinforce time management skills at home so students get their assignments done
Be mindful that they are still kids and need to relax and chill out - just not all day.
Get outside! Take walks and encourage exercise.
Help your child organize their work so they are able to get a little done every day
Encourage healthy eating options
