Oak Ridge Family Focus
October 28th Edition
Weekly Update
We had another great week at Oak Ridge. Two big events we held this week:
- Our Hello Week was a big success! The focus of the week was for students to learn about social isolation and how they can work to include others. During Social Studies, students worked on building social skills and learned interesting facts about new friends. To cap of the week, all of our students linked arms across the school to show their commitment that everyone belongs and each person is important at Oak Ridge.
- Thank you to everyone who came out to the Halloween Boo Bash on Friday night. Our students had a great time playing games, dancing, and participating in the costume contest! A BIG thank you to our PTA for hosting the event and all of our volunteers who came out and made the event a huge success!

Reminder about Report Cards
This year, all report cards will be accessed online. If you have not done so already, please make sure you have signed up and are able to log in to the Parent Access portal so you will be able to see grades once they are available. If you need assistance, please read our helpful tip sheets. We will also be posting a tutorial video on the website on how to access the report cards online. The video should be available by October 29th (before report cards are released on November 2nd).

Hippotherapy for Students with Special Needs
"Hippotherapy is a mounted activity utilizing the unique movement patterns of the horse. It is implemented by a PT, OT, or Speech Therapist. The child is not learning riding skills, but is gaining improvements in muscle tone, strength, postural control, balance, and coordination from weight shifts and postural displacement created by the unique horse's gait."
