7 Mindsets

Everything is Possible, Dream Big, Embrace Creativity, and Expect Great Results:

Everything is Possible teaches us that we are all capable of living extraordinary lives. We learn that everything in existence was once just an idea, until someone believed it was possible and turned it into a reality. Embracing this fact allows us to envision a wonderful life, expect greatness, and make our dreams come true.

itslearning and Parent Portal

Parents, do you have Parent Portal and itslearning access? Please refer to this handy information document to learn the difference between these two resources. We have additional information about itslearning posted to our school website under Quick Links. itslearning will once again be our avenue for online learning in the event of inclement weather this school year. Students must login to complete assignments in itslearning using their unique personal identification number (username) and password. The parent itslearning view is different from students, but offers a quick "snapshot" of all your students' classes.

International Festival

On Thursday, November 19, Mashburn Elementary will be celebrating its first ever International Festival. Please plan to attend with your family and friends.

Calling All Volunteers!

We are looking for volunteers to help out at Mashburn’s Blue Bear Festival! We need people to collect tickets and “man” games and rides, sell concessions, do face paint, and put tattoos on. If you are available Friday, September 18th from 5-8 and would like to help out we would love to have you! Please contact Emma Loesch at loesch@mac.com. Please be sure to include your age so you can be matched to the best area for you. Thanks!!!!

Cake Walk

Our beloved Blue Bear Festival is coming up on Friday, September 18th from 5:00-8:00 p.m. Among parents and students of all ages, the Cake Walk is one of the most popular events at our festival. We need everyone's help in making this event a success by having lots of treats for people to win. We are in desperate need for people to bake or to buy and donate pies, cakes, or individually wrapped sets of cookies, brownies, cupcakes, Rice Krispy treats, or any other treats that you can think of. We also welcome specialty items such as sugar and gluten free. If you make homemade items, please put a label on it that lists the ingredients for those with food allergies. Starting Thursday, September 17th, we will have a table set-up in the Front Office were you can drop off your donations for the Cake Walk. We will also have a cart out during the car rider line where you can hand your treats off to staff without having to get out of your car. If you have any questions about the Cake Walk, please e-mail Mrs. Porter at aporter@forsyth.k12.ga.us. We greatly appreciate any donations that you can make in helping our Cake Walk to be a fun experience for everyone.

Forsyth County BYOT First Annual 5K and Fun Run

Forsyth County Schools and the Forsyth BYOT Benefit are partnering to raise money to provide home internet access and computing devices for Forsyth County students. The first annual iRun, a 5K race and Fun Run, will be their fundraising event for the year. The run will take place on September 26 at Piney Grove Middle School with the 5K starting at 8:00 am and the Fun Run at 9:15 am. They are holding a competition among schools to see which can raise the most money in support of the iRun. For more information on the competition and run, click here.

Feedback Wanted!

Mashburn Parents: Our school attendance lines will change for the 2016-17 school year to relieve overcrowding and populate Brandywine ES and DeSana MS, which will open in August 2016. We invite you to review Draft #1 of the redistricting map and provide input at www.forsyth.k12.ga.us under the "news" section. Please note that the survey closes September 21 and that the redistricting timeline is posted at www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/redistricting.

Lunchroom Payments

When sending in payment for the cafeteria with your student, please place all money in an envelope or baggie labeled with the student's first and last name, the teacher's name, and the student id number (which is the number they use on the keypad in the cafeteria.) Lunch payments can also be made through My Payments Plus.
