Staff Bio

As you can tell from his eight grade picture, beauty takes time. During Eric Kistler's 31 years at Schmucker, he has taught journalism, language arts, and social studies to grades 6-9. Mr. Kistler has also coached every sport at Schmucker with the exception of cheer leading and wrestling; he would have coached those sports but didn't think he looked good in a short skirt or singlet. He started the girls' golf program at Penn, helped establish WSMS, and initiated eLearning for PHM. He is also very active in the teachers' union. Mr. Kistler holds a Masters degree in school administration and is looking to finish his career as a school leader in Michigan. He graduated from White Pigeon High School, Glen Oaks Community College, Hope College and American College of Education.

Family is a priority in his life. He has a wife, Leasa, and three children, Karsen, Karter, and McKi, who all attended Schmucker and are surprisingly normal adults today. When not teaching, he enjoys sports, many outdoor activities, antiquing and family gatherings.

Staff Bio

Allison Marsh is in her third year at Schmucker. Not too many years ago, she completed her social studies education degree through Bethel college and did her student teaching at Penn. While not at school, she is teaching Sunday school, spending time with family, and constantly working on house projects.

Staff Bio

Wendy Schuster is in her 4th year teaching 8th grade math and algebra at Schmucker.

She attended the PHM schools and received her bachelor's and masters degree in elementary education from Indiana University, SB. Wendy has been teaching in the middle school since 1990. Previously, she was at Grissom Middle School teaching a variety of age levels and classes (6th grade honors and regular language arts and math, 7th grade reading, and even a social studies class).

Her husband, Jim, is the chief of fire prevention for the City of Mishawaka. They love to spend time with the boys, vacation in Florida and work on projects for the house together.

Jordan is 21, Bo is 16, and Luke, is here at Schmucker in 8th grade.

Wendy loves going to the beach, reading, scrap booking, hosting dinners, and baking holiday treats.

Cheers for Peers
