Message from the Principal

Dear Advantage Arts Family,

As we are reaching the end of this school year, it is important to reflect on all of the changes we have experienced. I am grateful to have the opportunity to work with an amazing staff, parents, and students. The best part of finishing something is finding ways to improve and make it better for the next year.

Below is a quick parent survey from our governing board to help improve and support our wonderful school.

Thank you for all of your support,

Mr. Kano

After School Pick Up Reminder

If you are picking up students from 3rd Grade to 6th Grade please stay in line with the car in front of you. We have students running to the passenger door of their parents vehicle and when we have vehicles pulling out of line and around the car in front of them it is a safety issue. The safety of our students and staff are the main priority! Thank you for your patience!

We are so excited to do the color run again this year! We sent home the donation packets on Thursday of this week and We are still looking for volunteers! The students will head to the field during their designated time and will run their laps. Their teachers will be along the sides and some will be running with them, getting their students covered with the colored chalk! Please make sure your student is wearing white or light colored clothing or anything you are not too worried about getting color stains on them and send your student with a water bottle. Please send a change of clothes for the students that will not be at the end of the day.

PLEASE BE SURE YOUR STUDENT WEARS CLOTHES THEY DONT MIND GETTING DIRTY IN AND REMEMBER THAT YOUR STUDENT WILL BE MESSY AS WE DONT HAVE A PLACE TO COMPLETELY WASH ALL OF THE CHALK OFF! (If you feel it is necessary you may want to bring a towel for them to sit on in the car to keep your seats clean. Some students will be messier then others.)

The money we raise this year will go towards ADVANTAGE ARTS ACADEMY SCHOOL SAFETY! We have sent out envelopes for donations to be made by cash or check. You can donate online through the scan code below or at this website

Please make sure to add the students name and if you are donating per lap or just the flat donation. We can not wait to do this fundraiser again this year!

We will be needing volunteers for many different things. If you would like to help in any way with this epic fundraiser please contact Miss Loni (Our Librarian) at:

We have plenty of ways to help with this fundraiser, from donating time to donating supplies needed to make this happen.

Some of the things we are looking to have donated are:

Prizes that can be earned with donations

A inflatable arch for the kids to run through

Packaged Powdered Chalk to be thrown

Households Must Apply for Free or Reduced-price Lunch by May 6 . To Be Eligible for Pandemic EBT

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah households will need to apply for free or reduced-price meal benefits with their local school no later than May 6 to be potentially eligible for pandemic EBT (P-EBT). P-EBT can help individuals purchase food if their children have temporarily lost access to free or reduced-price meals due to school closures from COVID-related emergencies, or other COVID-related school absences during the 2021-2022 school year. To qualify for P-EBT, individuals must be signed up for free or reduced-price school meals.

During the 2021-22 school year, all students, regardless of income status, can receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each day they attend school.

However, this does not qualify students for P EBT, nor does it automatically give students free-reduced status. To determine the free-reduced status of a student, individuals must apply through their school.

Individuals can find information on how to contact their local school at:

Please visit for more information on the P-EBT program.

Center Stage

2nd Grade Portraits

In second grade students learned more about self portraits and how they can represent the way that we feel or act. Each student came up with a pose and then were photographed. They traced that picture onto transparent paper and painted parts of it. We will attach these portraits to the abstract backgrounds they made last week and you'll be able to see the final products in our art shows on Tuesday and Thursday.

5th Grade Printmaking

In fifth grade, students made relief prints by carving into a rubber block and stamping it onto paper. This week we worked on finishing the carving and actually rolling the block with ink and printing it onto the paper. The results are amazing! You'll have to come see them at the art show next week!

Get Involved

We have so many fun opportunities to volunteer at our amazing school and be part of all of the fun!

Our next big volunteer opportunity is our upcoming color run! This EVENT will be in May! We are looking to start a parent crew to help out with this activity! Please reach out to Miss Loni if you want to be part of this incredibly amazing fundraiser!

Thank you to everyone that has volunteered so far this year. You are the reason Advantage Arts Academy is so amazing.

We would like to send an extra special shout out to EVERYONE that donates to our school! We are who are and are able to do what we do because of all of you! Thank you to all of our amazing parents that support our staff! We appreciate you all more then we can begin to express!

Make sure to stop into these businesses and and show them some love.
