Athletic Department
Winter sports are up and running! Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys and Girls Hockey, Gymnastics, Wrestling, Boys Swim & Dive, and Winter Cheerleading and Dance. GO BIG BLUE! Find the sports schedules here.

Hoops for Hope
This event held on Tuesday the 13th squeaked in just before the storm started. It was a great success. Good job Girls Basketball team!
Before the game, played against Proctor, seniors Savannah Leopold and Emma Raye received 1,000 point basketballs. They are only the fifth and sixth Spartan girls to join the school’s 1,000 point club.

Scholarship Night
Here is some information covered during our scholarship night held earlier this month:
- Students must complete the applications themselves (not parents).
- Complete all requirements for the application to be considered.
- If you complete the Nelson application, you do not need to fill out a second application for the generals.

All Night Grad Party Planning
Junior and Senior Parents-
The All Night Grad Party Committee will be holding their next meeting for Junior and Senior Parents that are interested in assisting with the party on Wednesday, December 19th at 6:00 p.m. in the library conference room. If you are not able to attend this meeting, but would like notification of future meetings, please email Nicky Wilson at nickyw2433@gmail.com.
Jostens Visit
Jostens will be at SHS on Tuesday, December 20th during advisory to meet with 10th graders to discuss lettermans jackets and with 12th graders to discuss graduation caps, gowns, and rings. Information will be sent with students. We will share the information they are given with parents later that day as well.
Student Life
Classroom Highlight - Project Life
Project Life is a combination of instruction focused on life skills, employment skills, vocational curricula, assessments, structured work experiences, and individualized support services.
The Project Life students went to the Salvation Army Food Pantry to package meals during the Thanksgiving Holidays.
Melena Goggleye is our intern for the month of December. Congratulations Melena!
Hope Squad
Hope Squad took a retreat to the school forest on Tuesday. They learned about the importance of advocating for themselves and peers on behalf of suicide prevention and awareness. Their day of training was intense, but they managed to sneak in a little fun over their lunch break. We are lucky to have this group and their advisors in our SHS community and beyond. Even Apollo, our school's therapy dog, joined them for the day.

Project Reach Out
We are excited to announce the opening of a Teen Drop In Center in Superior, located at 1500 North 34th Street, Suite 100. The School District of Superior has collaborated with HDC and Project Reach Out for many years. Recently, this collaboration resulted in a grant to provide a safe space for youth aged 12-21.
