Tanglen Update
September 16, 2022
From our Fabulous PTO
Greetings Tanglen families!
*One out of three students is registered for our Acts of Kindness fundraiser...and we would LOVE to grow that number! Did you know this is how the Tanglen PTO pays for ALL field trips for your students? That's NO small feat!
If you haven't already- please use this link to get registered with Raise Craze!
Fueled by acts of kindness, this is our main fundraiser for the year, and how the PTO pays for all our events like the Block Party, Bingo night, staff appreciation, and student field trips! Every dollar helps!
Check out our leaderboard here! We've completed 222 Acts of Kindness and raised almost $20K from 34 states with just over a week to go! KEEP IT UP!! Do you know anyone in these grey states? Send them your fundraising link to help us get to 50 states! Even $1 counts!
*We want to welcome volunteers back into the building! Sign up using this link for a time that works for you and we'll reach out to coordinate the details of your volunteer slot. Your students and their teachers benefit in so many ways from your involvement!
Contact us at lhtanglenpto@gmail.com if you have questions.
*Please join us with your family at the Tanglen Block party next Wednesday 9/21/22 from 4pm-7pm. Free food, DJ, Ninja Warrior Course, inflatables, photo booth, and much more! Check out this Sign Up Genius for the block party! We still have a few volunteer spots left for the event next Wednesday from 4-7pm. Short shifts will allow you to still enjoy the event with your families!
*Please sign-up NOW for your FREE tickets to parent & staff night out next Friday 9/23/22! 4-6pm at Brookview for some lawn bowling shenanigans, 6-10pm at BLVD for food and drinks and auction fun. Please RSVP using this link to let us know you're coming! ALL activities, food, and drinks are free!
*Be sure to register for the Tanglen Auction- LIVE NOW! Bid on front row tickets to this year's musical performances, and activities with your student's teachers, see the grade level auction baskets you all contributed to, and scoop up some gift cards! We're fundraising this year for a mobile cooking cart, field trips, and continued improvements to our outdoor classroom!

Student Nutrition changes for the 2022-23 School Year
The USDA has determined that school meals will NOT be free for all students for the 2022-23 school year. Therefore, a meal benefit application is required to obtain free or reduced meals. Meal applications for the 2022-23 school year are available on the Nutrition page in the Free Meals & Food Assistance tab. You can also find breakfast and lunch menus and pricing for paid meals on your child’s school website.
Although lunch is no longer free, a reimbursable USDA FREE BREAKFAST is available for all students at L.H. Tanglen Elementary School this year.
Please encourage a healthy start to the day with a FREE nutritious breakfast to fuel our students' brains.
