Eagles Family Newsletter

Friday, May 7, 2021

Dear Eagle Families,

Wow, what an amazing feeling it was to see students return for the first time in over a year to in person live instruction. We truly are excited to have our students back and leaning in our classroom. We still have a few more weeks of instruction and we want all our students to finish strong. We will have more information of end of the year events and graduation in our next newsletter, which will be mid May.

We encourage you to look through each edition, where you will find the most up-to-date information regarding school events, news and important information regarding your student's high school experience. I would love to hear your feedback on other information you would like to read about in the newsletter. Email me at framirez@nlmusd.k12.ca.us with any suggestions. Si prefiere, puede cambiar el idioma de este boletín al español, a la mano derecha, donde dice "Translate Newsletter."

As we get closer to the end of this unique school year, we are very interested in your thoughts and opinions in order to better plan for next school year. Parents and Students can get their voices heard by completing the Community Schools Survey. It is completely confidential and also essential to the work we are trying to do at the school. JGHS Athletics is in full swing! We have started league play in every spring sport. Sports such as soccer and girls tennis have completed their season.

Our girls tennis team finished in 4th place with a 4-6 overall League Record. Boys & Girls

Soccer worked hard each game. They did their very best considering they did not get much rest during the games due to not enough subs. We are very proud of their effort!

Softball is off to a great start. They finished their first round of league yesterday and are currently in 2nd place. Baseball will play their second game against Pioneer today.

Track & Field competes against their League opponents on Saturday mornings. The Varsity Boys defeated Whitney on April 24. They will compete against Cerritos tomorrow and Artesia on May 15. Track & Field Finals will take place at Pioneer HS on May 22.

Boys & Girls Wrestling are currently 2-0 in League. They are working hard to secure a spot in the upcoming CIF dual playoffs. Next Thursday, May 13 will be their final League match against Cerritos.
