Notes from the WGHS Principals
January 7, 2022
Message from the WGHS Admin Team
Happy New Year! We hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday recess and were able to spend some quality time with friends and family. These vacations seem to fly by! As we are nearing the end of the first semester, students are encouraged to get any missing assignments turned in, and attend Interaction Time to finish out the semester strong. With NYS Regents exams cancelled, that takes a little of the pressure off students as we head into midterms. Please see below for details!
Stay warm and stay healthy!
Sincerely,
The WGHS Administrative Team
Safety/COVID-19
Please carefully review the most recent email from Mr. Bills, including the Updated guidance for COVID-19 Isolation and Quarantine. It is important to note, that not only has the length of the isolation/quarantine period changed, so have the guidelines for who is considered to be fully vaccinated. The new guidelines require that students and staff eligible for a booster must have one in order to be considered fully vaccinated. In addition, the Onondaga County Health Department will no longer contact a person for the purposes of release from a quarantine or isolation. Instead, attestation forms are now available as follows:
Self-Attestation: Affirmation of Isolation
Self-Attestation: Affirmation of Quarantine
With an increase in the number of students needing to isolate or quarantine, please remind your students to check their emails and Google Classroom for updates from their teachers to make sure they are not missing out on work. Our staff is working hard to keep kids up-to-date and roll with the changes in attendance each day! Please reach out to your teachers with any questions while you are out of school.
Finally, it is mandated that students, staff, and visitors wear a properly fitted mask, over the nose and mouth, while in school buildings. While we recognize that not everyone is happy about the rules that are in place,we will be upholding these rules, and all people inside of our buildings will be expected to comply. We appreciate your understanding as we work to maintain a safe and healthy environment that will allow us to keep our students in school.
