Holiday Fun in 3-215
December has been a busy, bustling, energized month in our classroom! We published our personal essays and did some descriptive writing with our five senses. We began learning about literary essays, which we will study further in January! In reading, we've been exploring characters in book series. Some favorites have been Kylie Jean, Stink, Zelda and Ivey, and Melvin Beederman. In math, we took our growing knowledge of skip counting and applied it to our unit on Interpreting and Representing Data. Students learned about tally tables, frequency tables, picture graphs, bar graphs and line plots. In the Innovation Lab, students have been researching countries and learning about different cultures. We've also enjoyed assemblies, concerts, librarian visits, kindergarten buddy time, and our holiday party! We participated in Hour of Code when Mrs. McClelland, our digital instructional coach, visited our classroom and taught us different ways to code. We said goodbye to our classmate, Serenity, who moved to a new state. As 2017 comes to a close, we think back to all we've learned so far and look forward to more learning and adventures in 2018!
