7 Gold:
Our Gold team overcame a hot serving Gateway and won in three sets against Gateway last thursday night 24-26; 25 - 19; 25-15. The girls did a great job of rallying together to overcome a feisty Gateway squad bent on avenging their season opening loss. I was very proud of how the girls persevered through their own mistakes and tough calls in getting this win. I really do think they grew up a bit as a team, realizing that things won’t always go their way, and that working together as a team will help them overcome anything. Gateways Coach told me after the game that they were so close to getting us that night, to which I just smiled. Up next for the Gold team is their final home match vs Manor New Tech on Monday Night. We need a win and a Johnson City loss Monday night to secure the #1 seed in Saturday’s District Tournament.
