It has been a great week at SMS!

This week the winners for the Fox C-6 Masterpiece Award were announced and our own Tracy Larose was one of the winners! We were extremely excited to celebrate Mrs. Larose and all she does for our kids! It is a well deserved honor!

Just a reminder that today is the end of the 3rd quarter and parent/teacher conferences will be April 3rd. More info on the conferences in the newsletter below.

Spring Parent/Teacher conferences are scheduled for Monday, April 3rd. This year, the structure of spring conferences will be different from years past. All Parent/Teacher conferences will be held virtually and scheduled ahead of time. Teachers will be contacting families to schedule their conferences. On Monday, March 20, teachers will send personal invitations to families of students who are struggling in their class (current grade of D or F) to sign up for a Parent/Teacher conference. Then, on Thursday, March 23, teachers will contact the families of all other students to invite them to sign up for a virtual conference.

On April 28th, to celebrate our departing 8th grade students, we will be taking field trip to Six Flags for all 8th grade students that qualify under the following requirements:

Eligible Students: All 8th grade students who do not have any failing grades in any of their classes (Fs) or any ISS or OSS from March 20th - 4/28 are eligible for the trip.

Students will have until March 31st to check with teachers and to find out what they can do to turn in missing work or raise grades to qualify. Teachers will not accept any work after Friday, March 31st.

Only student who are eligible after March 31st will get a field trip form and payment will be due by no later than April 6th.

No refunds will be given once payments are made.

April 3rd - No School for Students - Professional Development for Teachers/Parent/Teacher Conferences (12:30pm-7pm)

April 4th - No School

April 10th - 14th - No School - Spring Break

April 21st - 6th Grade Lock In

April 28th - 8th Grade Field Trip to Six Flags

May 12th - 8th Grade Formal

May 26th - Last Day of School - Half Day for Students
