A Work In Progress
By: Connor Franta
Theme
Protaganist and Antagonist
The protagonist of this book was Connor himself. He went through a lot of struggles, whether it was his home life, his struggles with identity, body image, or sexuality. He was able to overcome all of this and be happy for who he is and appreciate life more. His friends and family also play a big part in his life. They supported him through every decision and were there to help him in times of need.
The antagonist of this book was everyone that brought him down or the "haters". It is also his own conscience. His conscience would convince him that he wasn't good enough or he wasn't cool or good-looking enough. It made him have many doubts in himself.

On December 8, 2014, Franta publicly came out as gay in a YouTube video, stating he has accepted who he is and is “happy with that person”. He also spoke on the help he got from others on the Internet, and wanted to give people struggling with their sexuality similar advice. This six-minute long video, titled “Coming Out”, has over 7 million views and 700 thousand likes, being the second most viewed video on Connor's channel.
