Week of 4/4/16 - Home of the Spartans
ISTEP - Planning Ahead - Update
As we look ahead to Part 2 of the ISTEP test, we anticipate that our testing dates will be April 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28. ISTEP Part 2 is the multiple choice portion. 7th and 8th grade students test approximately three (3) hours in ELA and (2 1/2) hours in math. Additionally, our 7th graders will take Social Studies and our Biology students will take Science. We are looking at several schedule options and are meeting with our CIC leadership committee this week to finalize our schedule. Next week's "Updates" will have the final testing schedule included. Again, we appreciate the importance that our Northside families have placed on attendance during our testing dates.
From the Guidance Office
8th Grade Parents:
8th graders completed 9th grade course selections for their freshman year in February. From this point forward, please contact the high school guidance department directly for questions regarding your child's freshman year, or if you are needing to make changes to their courses.
Summer Camp Opportunity
Ivy Tech will be hosting an Advanced Manufacturing Summer Camp here in Columbus for all current 8th graders. This camp is three days long and is completely free.
There is a mandatory parent meeting being held on May 2nd at the Advanced Manufacturing Center. This is an opportunity for parents to learn more about the camp and how it will operate. Student applications for the camp will be available during this time. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Martha Hyer at 812-374-5351 or firstname.lastname@example.org
Washington D.C. Trip - Last Chance!
