Hello Westside Families! We are so proud of our intermediate students for all their hard work and perseverance through FSA testing last week! Fifth grade has one more set of tests for Science on May 16th & 17th, but the other grades are complete! If your child was absent during testing, be sure they are ON TIME each day for make-ups.


This week we are honoring our employees for Staff Appreciation Week! Thank you to all the donations of gift cards and cash as we met our goal to provide a $10 gift card to EVERY staff member through your generosity! Big Shout Out to Kona Ice, Elizabeth Cassidy at Future Home Loans, and our very own PTO for sponsoring all the food and fun that will be occurring this week! Below are some ideas for your child to spoil their teacher and/or favorite employee!


We appreciated everyone who filled out the BPS Insight Survey! It provided some wonderful feedback on things you appreciate about Westside along with areas we can work to improve. This summer, staff will be working to plan for the 22-23 school year using this input to make Westside even better!

Explorers are Learning Every Moment of Every Day!

Students explored Nutrition Lessons last week with Mrs. McKinney and our partnership with University of Florida! Ms. Lewis from UF provided a "Smoothie Bike" with a pedal-powered blender to mix yummy fruit smoothies! Our Explorers loved the taste and learned about the health benefits! Try making a smoothie this week with your child!

First Graders continued their literacy exploration in Mrs. Marchetti's class with a camp out! Students made their own tents and enjoyed different genres of reading.

Our littlest Explorers in Ms. Artman's PK class hosted a lovely "Muffins with Moms" event. The students were able to showcase their classroom and treat their moms to a special snack.
