Nazareth Protestant Community
September 10, 2015
In the next few weeks, there are several opportunities available to you to take time for yourself to rest, recharge, and decompress.
1. This Sunday at Protestant Worship we will be outside on the prayer labyrinth (between GAC and Peckham--look for the candles and listen for the music). We will take some time to sing together, to pray, and to walk the labyrinth by candlelight. If you have never walked a prayer labyrinth before, this is a great opportunity to learn about this introspective, contemplative, and also active form of prayer. In the event of inclement weather we will move the service back to Linehan Chapel.
2. Taize on September 27 -- On the last Sunday of every month we host a Taize service. Taize is an ecumenical form of contemplative worship that features song, silence, prayer, and scripture. We light candles and join together for an evening of centering our hearts and minds on God. It's a beautiful service that allows you the opportunity to slow down and rest in the grace of God.
3. The Ecumenical Retreat at Mt. Savior Monastery -- Oct. 2-4. You should have received an email inviting you to join the Catholic and Protestant communities for this weekend retreat. If you did not, please let me know! This will be a fun, relaxing weekend away in the company of friends, monks, sheep, apples, and two of your favorite chaplains. The cost is $15 and scholarships are available. Sign up today!
4. And if you really need someone to talk to about the stress and anxiety of life, email me (nmullin7@naz.edu) and make an appointment to come by and talk. I have chocolate and a listening ear.
I hope that you'll take advantage of all or some of these opportunities to feed your faith in the coming weeks.
And hear Jesus' words to you: "Come to me, all of you are weary and burdened and I will give you rest."
Blessings,
Nadia
