Directed Drawing in Mrs. Scott's Class

Directed drawings are a step-by-step approach to drawing something. The teacher guides or directs students in the steps to create a drawing. Directed drawings increase the listening skills of students. They must listen and keep up with the teacher as each part is drawn. In addition to listening, the students learn to follow directions. Don’t forget that drawing is FUN, and we want kids to feel successful as they learn. Each drawing is unique. All of these were created following the same directions.

Analyzing and Comparing Perspectives - Reading in Mrs. Inkabi's Class

Learners who can identify different perspectives within a text will gain a deep insight into the possible meanings and levels of meaning. They will achieve a fuller understanding of the text. Also, by analyzing and comparing perspectives, learners can begin to determine their own perspectives on a topic.

Harvest of the Month in Miss Fettig's Class

Parents are teachers, too! Thank you, Mrs. Cymerys, Mrs. Heneman, and Mrs. Miegel. Here’s to a great class of learning about healthy fruit. The parents did an amazing job teaching the students about the health benefits of oranges, the varietals, and more!

(It was Crazy Hat Day on the day of the lesson.)

I wanted to remind you that the PTA is looking for people to join us! There is a misconception out there that PTA parents aren’t working parents and that we have tons of extra time on our hands. We don’t! Most of us work, and obviously we are all doing some SERIOUS multi-tasking as we continue to support Remote and Hybrid learning for our own kids! We volunteer for the PTA because we care about our kids, we care about the school they attend and the community, and we support the people who educate them. Take Erin Brooks: PTA Board Chair, mother of 3 and works full time as a Hematology Consultant selling life saving cancer treatment drugs for Multiple Myeloma. If you would like to learn more about our PTA, the people who volunteer for it and what we do for Alamo School, please join us for our General Association Meeting- March 25, 4:00pm. You can also contact Nicole Rocca, mom of 3, Pediatric Nurse AND PTA Board Parliamentarian for more information: We hope to be fully back in school in the Fall and have so many fun things to make up for and to plan for!

Access to COVID Testing for Students and Families-

The San Ramon Valley Unified School District has partnered with PMH Laboratories to arrange opportunities for students and families to have access to COVID testing. Testing will take place at the SRVUSD Education Center. Please visit the testing information page on our website to make an appointment and for more information.

Staff COVID Testing

Adjusted cases per 100,000 are at 10.4 as of 2/20/21. Per guidance issued by the CA Department of Public Health (CDPH) on January 14, 2021, the recommended frequency/cadence of surveillance (asymptomatic) testing when a county drops below 14 cases per 100,000 population changes from testing once each week to testing once every two weeks. The testing cadence further changes as the Case Rate continues to decline.

All staff who sets foot on campus regardless of frequency are tested.
