Apple Butter Day: An Elida Tradition

Students gave us a peak at farm-life today at the Annual Elida FFA Apple Butter Day. Classes enjoyed learning about agriculture and seeing the farm animals including a turkey, a pig, and two beautiful horses. Apple butter was being made, and jarred, and will be sold at each of the school buildings on Friday Oct. 12th, and all next week for just $6 pint! Thanks to Ag Instructor Dennis Pohlman for helping the students with this great event! There are more great pictures on Elida's facebook page.

Firemen teach students fire safety with "Touch a Truck"

In honor of National Fire Prevention Week, American Twp. Firemen came to the Elementary this week so that our students could "Touch a Truck!" Our kindergarten and 1st grade students had a chance to see a fire engine, ladder-truck and a medic unit and even use the firehose, too!

They learned some important fire safety reminders, too. Thank you the American Twp. Fire Department for helping teach our Elida students. Hear from one of the firemen in this story from Your Hometown Stations.

Football Friday Night: Home vs. Shawnee/ Band Parent's Night

Q&A: Elida's Permanent Improvement Renewal Levy

Didn't we vote on a levy in the spring?

Yes, that was for the construction of a new elementary building.

This renewal levy is to help cover expenses for the district including purchasing new buses, textbooks, computers, safety & maintenance expenses, and capital improvements. These funds are NOT used for operational expenses.

Please remember to vote on November 6th.
