AUGUST NEWS FOR LICENCED DIRECTORS
I know that we are now in September, but there are a number of tips and reminders in this issue that you will find useful!
Here are a few highlights:
PORTAL DEADLINE:
Please make the final changes to your communities. Double-check to ensure that all registered students are listed and that all information is accurate. Students should never be simply deleted, but classified correctly (e.g., dropped, transferred out, etc.). Directors have until September 5th to edit communities. Your program financials can be managed on the Classical Portal, and we encourage everyone to use this feature. Don't forget to register your own children!
LICENSING PAYMENTS:
All final licensing payments are due Tuesday,
September 5th. There are two options for submitting your licensing payments:

CC Basics: Encouraging your families
Let's make a plan to assure that this happens. Now that you are into the school year - now is the time to look for ways to do that.
* Dont forget to PRAY over your families! It is easy to just get going on Community days, but include encouragement for your families within your opening prayer.
* Make a point to make eye contact with your new families and see how they are doing. Not just "How is it going?" but a Value-Added Communication. For example:
- "How is your first year homeschooling going?"
- "How are you doing with the [grammar/specific strand/specific assignment] at home?"
- "How are you doing balancing all the levels in your house? (For FE+Ch families)
- "Are you understanding CC better now? Do you have any questions about community?"
* Make a few quick phone calls to a few families this week. They don't have to be long - you can preface it with "I only have a few minutes but I wanted to check in..."
* Schedule a Community Encouragement Event. Allow parents to help encourage each other in all levels.
FE Directors:
* Get your tutors involved. Ask them to connect with the families in their classes and follow up.
* Encourage your tutors so they can pour out to their families. Reminding them to KEEP IT SIMPLE and STICK IN THE SAND.
Challenge Directors
* You could have a parent meeting at lunch to touch base and to allow parents to encourage each other. You could also set up a coffee house meeting for open Q&A.
* Send out any additional helps you may have SEPERATE from your weekly email. Parents are more likely to notice the additional email than if it was mixed in with the other notes.
DLG Highlight
We often forget to go back to the source... so here is a quick reminder to have a quick look at your DLG,
Appendix A, p.64, is a review the basics of a CC Program. These are simple reminders to help us all stay on track with the Director Licensee Contract.
