A refresher about the Early Childhood Alliance of Framingham (ECAF) and your Local Coordinated Family And Community Engagement program:

Who We Are and What We Offer:

We are looking forward to bringing you new "Play, Learn, and Grow Together" programs this Fall at the library, outside, and at your community center. We also offer the internationally recognized ParentChild+ home visitation program where an early learning specialist collaborates with the parent(s) on ways to promote early literacy and school readiness with their young child. We bring a gift of a book or toy each week to learn new ways to play, learn, and grow together. This program helps prepare the young learner and parent for their first day of school. All programs are free and inclusive!

We also help families access community resources and child care alternatives. We also invite all families to be a part of our Early Childhood Leadership Council, Family Action Team, or Family Ambassador program. Take a look at the very comprehensive Resource Guide for Early Childhood. You will find an abundance of helpful early childhood resources and information right at your fingertips.

Let's get started with a fun filled back to school season for parents and young children in your neighborhood. What do you want? Please complete the Survey of Interests by clicking here! Maybe a Parent and New Baby group? We call this group Baby Talk. Maybe a group focused on Social Emotional skills. We call it the "Me, You, We" group. Maybe the Read and Rise program to learn about your roots and bring your traditions and story to life. And then we have a comming attactraction call Nap Time No More! A group for you and your child who has given up their nap. Finally, if you want to learn more about your child's development you can complete the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ). Click here to learn more, or contact us to schedule an appointment.

These are a few examples of activities the Early Childhood Alliance of Framingham (ECAF) provides at various locations. Fun fact, we are part of the Framingham Public Schools offering learning opportunities for you and your child at the earliest point before entering the schools.

CURIOUS TO LEARN ABOUT YOUR CHILD'S DEVELOPMENT?

You are invited to complete the AGES & STAGES PARENT QUESTIONNAIRE to learn more about your child's development. A great time to observe and reflect what your child is doing at different ages and learn about each stage. After you complete the questionnaire, we will review the information about your child's development with you, share handouts to further enhance their growth, and provide you with a copy of the completed questionnaire.

We will try to offer a road map stopping and exploring common grounds, celebrating developmental milestones, sharing inevitable pitfalls, and refueling with the energy that keeps us moving. These sources or tools advance our knowledge and provide us with more information allowing us to anticipate what may be ahead and plan our travels into Parenthood and Early Education accordingly. Let’s call it a guidebook that leads us through the parenting journey , not alone, but together as the journey can sometimes be lonely and it is always more fun when we have others join us, and, it’s easier to reach our destination safely. No matter how many stops or bumps along the way, we aim to ensure future opportunities for successful excursions.
