Week of March 23rd - 27th
These days have been trying; trying on our patience, trying on our budgets, trying on our faith, trying on our hearts and minds, and trying on our children. As we forge our way through this time of uncertainty there has been a great deal of time to sit and reflect on the days that have passed and the days that we still have to come. There is always a way to find the positive within the negative; the two always reside together, even science has taught us this, so for where ever there is darkness there will always be light. I have seen families come together that have been torn by busy schedules, I have seen friends rally together to virtually support one another, I have seen parents become teachers and teachers have the opportunity to be more involved parents, but above all I have seen our district rise in its support for one another. In comparison to some of the surrounding areas, you have all stepped up and embraced these hardships, finding anyway possible to support one another. Parents, we can't thank you enough for all that you are doing to fulfill multiple roles during this time! Teachers, you have been amazing by keeping in touch with your students and their families, while providing educational opportunities from afar! Administrators, you have gone the extra mile to jump in the trenches and to be the glue for each of your campuses! As we embark on this new adventure with distance learning we are all on even playing fields learning how to maneuver in these unsteady water. As we all become stronger together we will gain new skills and become mightier citizens of this digital world!
We know that this journey will be long and it will be tough, but because of it we will all be stronger; stronger families, stronger parents, stronger teachers, strong students, and a stronger district! And at the end of this journey we will all have built a new team that will strengthen Bandera's future and the future for our children in Bandera ISD.
