PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Dear Parents and Guardians,
I sincerely thank our PTO for their incredible thoughtfulness and generosity during Staff Appreciation Week. The entire Lincoln staff enjoyed treats throughout the week and tomorrow PTO is hosting lunch! The commitment, enthusiasm, and work of PTO volunteers is vital to the success of schools. Our PTO is appreciated and respected as important partners in education. Thank you for a wonderful week and thank you for all you do for Lincoln students and staff.
In an earlier newsletter, we advised parents that our 7th Grade students will attend the 6th grade Candor Health presentation on May 19, 2022. Please be sure to read through the paragraphs below about this program. The link for 7th grade parents to view the pre-recorded presentation is now available and the link is listed below.
Special greetings to the parents and guardians of the Class of 2025 (our incoming 6th Grade)! Welcome to the Lincoln Newsletter! Before you know it you will officially have a new 6th grader at home and we hope that you are as excited as we are for the 2022/23 school year. In recent weeks Lincoln emailed 5th grade families an April informational letter and another email including the world language preference form . . . check your email for those emails and watch for an email next week regarding school supplies!
It looks like Spring is trying to get here . . . it shouldn't be long now . . .

Human Reproduction & Embryology – Thursday, May 19 2022
Previously known as Life Begins, this program teaches reproductive science. This program starts with a brief review of puberty content then focuses on the homologous nature of the female and male anatomy. We provide students the scientific explanation of fertilization and what is needed to create new life. A basic overview of genetics and cell division, prenatal development, and the opportunity for students to address commonly asked questions regarding multiples, miscarriage and delivery are given. Additionally, we explore how the social emotional skills of negotiation and teamwork can be helpful in navigating the ups and downs of puberty and the increased independence and responsibility that comes with adolescence.
Program Goals:
- To explain the functions of the reproductive organs
- To describe the process of fertilization
- To recognize stages of growth during prenatal development (embryology)
- To identify SEL tools to manage life challenges
Human Reproduction & Embryology: Parent Overview
Parents have access to a pre-recorded presentation by a Candor Health educator previewing this presentation.
