By Ronald David and Tevita Pine
ABOUT
Antartica is known as a cold continent. People say that antarctica is an inhabitable place because of the cold. Antartica is a place where only a few animals live.
ABOUT ANTARCTICA
Antartica is in the south pole it is known as the coldest continent in the world only a few animals and plants can survive here. People say Antarctica was part of godwana where almost all the countries were joined together then our country and antartica were all separated from each other. This is why we are now apart from all other countries.
ANIMALS AND PLANTS
Antartica only has a few types of animals and plants. There are animals such as penguins, seals, killer whales, shrimps and fish and other small species. The kinds of plants that live there are lichen, moss, liveworts and some flowering plants.
Animals
These are the animals.
Penguin
This is one of the main animals. There are many different species of penguins. One of them is the Emperor Penguin. They are known for their hair and the yellow neck.
Killer Whales
Killer Whales are called Orcas. They are the largest of dolphin family. They hunt in groups of more than 40 whales.
Global Warming
The real thing we came here to talk about is global warming. Global warming is when we make pollution and it creates a hole in the ozone layer. The hole in the ozone layer makes it really hot and the heat melts the ice sheets and the icebergs in Antarctica. If we dont stop the animals and plants will become extinct and our world will be destroyed.
