Happy Fall Break Taylor Families!
I hope you have plans to spend some quality family time together! We look forward to seeing you all back on Tuesday, October 12, 2021.
Ms. Molly Gautreaux, our school clinic worker has accepted a position within the school district as an acute care nurse. I am in the process of hiring for her position. In the meantime, please show your appreciation for how Ms. Molly has taken care of our students during her seven year tenure at Taylor Elementary.
Coach Kevin Carter is a new PE para, working alongside our PE teacher, Coach Wooten. The addition of Coach Carter allows our students a chance to experience PE twice in the specials rotation.
Finally, please consider supporting our school fundraiser. We are raising money to purchase new playground equipment, which will give our students more options of things to do during recess. As you remember, last years fundraiser allowed us to purchase a new digital message board which is in the final stages of completion. I will send a picture on the digital message board once it is completed.
I feel blessed to have such wonderful students, parents, and staff! Have a great fall break!
Paula Cobb, Principal
Important GCPS Calendar Dates for October, 2021
Please see the following calendar reminders about upcoming dates in Gwinnett County Public Schools:
- A reminder that Fall Break in Gwinnett County Public Schools is October 7-11. Students will return to school on Tuesday, October 12. Please note that meal service is not available October 7, 8, and 11.
- October 20 is a scheduled Digital Learning Day for all students. It will be an asynchronous learning day with ALL students learning from home. Students will log into eCLASS to work independently on assignments.
- October 21 is an early release day for students in grades K-8. Families of elementary and middle school students should be on the lookout for information about Parent-Teacher Conferences in the coming weeks.
- While meals are provided at no charge for all students this school year, it still pays to complete the Free and Reduced-price Meal Application. Families whose students would be eligible for meal support in a typical year should complete the application by October 21, 2021. GCPS offers an online application and a printed application (available at schools). A new application must be completed each year. Due to the number of applications received, families can expect a faster turnaround time for the online application, which is available in English and Spanish.
