Staff Spotlight
Brannon Carter, Data Scientist
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I'm taking classes with Georgia Tech this fall, so most of my freetime is occupied by being a student myself!
Tell a little bit about your background.
I graduated from undergraduate (Troy University) and graduate school (University of Alabama) in Alabama in the area of athletic training and biology. I've always enjoyed studying and learning more about science but have been drawn to the processes in science. I'm naturally inquisitive and enjoy figuring out how things work. That passion has recently developed into an interest in the area of Data Science.
What do you do at SCWS and what do you enjoy most about your role?
I serve as the school's Data Scientist, which is an administrative support role, and teach Web Design.
What do you want the students to know about you?
I genuinely care about your experience here with the technological aspects of our school and hope that you find the weekly reporting helpful in keeping you on track to reach your graduation goals!
At home (in Spartanburg, South Carolina) with my wife, Robin, who is also a teacher here at SCWS
Playing games with family this summer (Lake Junluska in North Carolina)
Enjoying the great outdoors (Smith Mountain in Alabama)
