A message from Dr. Marien
TOGETHER WE ARE ALL EAGLES
Throughout the current school year there have been many paths that families and our students have taken because it was best for their situation. All of which have been respected and many of these options were created in an effort to allow everyone to be as comfortable as possible. We have realized this year that our students' needs are very different from each other, both academically and socially. Our amazing staff have done incredible things this year meeting students where they are and working together to get students to gain this knowledge they need to improve their futures. The other thing that has become very apparent this year is how similar we all are. Both students and staff want the same things, to be happy, to improve daily and for our students to reach their full potential. While we have all taken different paths to get to where we are in life today, we all have similar goals in mind for our children and students. This is one reason why together we are ALL Eagles!!
PROM
2021 Prom will be held on Friday, June 11th
Prom will be on Friday, June 11th from 7:30-10:30pm here in the fieldhouse. Students who attend will eat at a place of their choice and then arrive at school for the dance. We will have a Junior court made up of 8 students and a Senior court made of up 8 students. We will have the coronation for both grades starting at 8pm.
This year Prom may only be attended by NPSD students in grades 11 and 12. No underclassmen and no guests from other schools may attend this year. We will also be streaming the coronation as no parents will be allowed into the dance this year.
We will follow all current safety guidelines including:
The wearing of masks
We will encourage social distancing throughout the event
We will limit slow songs throughout the night
Bottled water will be provided and individually wrapped/bagged snacks
Tickets for Prom will go on sale starting next week, Monday, May 10th in the LMC during the school day. Tickets for Prom this year will be $5 per person.
GRADUATION CEREMONY
Important Graduation information for Parents and Students
As we approach the end of the school year here is what is in store for our graduates in the final week of school. Seniors will have final exams on Tuesday, June 1st and Wednesday, June 2nd. Wednesday will be the final day of high school for our seniors. There is NO SCHOOL or school obligations for seniors on Thursday, June 3rd.
**On Friday, June 4th ALL SENIORS NEED TO REPORT TO SCHOOL AT 10am for graduation ceremony rehearsal, a class picture and outdoor walks at our elementary schools. This entire process will take 2-3 hours.**
We will also hand out rental gowns to students on Friday, June 4th. If you have ordered a gown please have your graduate bring their gown on this day. ALL STUDENTS SHOULD ALSO BRING THEIR CAP AND TASSEL ON THIS DAY!!
Now that we are into the month of May there are events that we need to share information with all of you. The biggest event that is coming up is our graduation ceremony for our class of 2021. This event will be held in person on Sunday, June 6th in our fieldhouse at 1pm.
Through our work with Vilas County Health Department, we have created a plan which will allow each graduate to bring 8 guests to the graduation ceremony. We also have a limited number of handicap locations in the fieldhouse. We would like to assign these locations to families that need a handicap location. If your family needs one of these locations you will be asked to request this also. We will do our best to fulfill your requests as we want to meet everyone's needs.
Please respond to the following questions in an email to Dr. Marien at dmarien@npsd.k12.wi.us :
Students Name
How many seats will your family need (max of 8)?
Does your family need a handicap location?
