Who was involved in the mass hysteria of The Crucible ?
John proctor and Abigail Williams (main characters) These characters were mainly involved in the hysteria of the crucible. These and other characters would play a part in the play to find themselves in sudden misfortunes. The hysteria here is due to what is causing the misfortunes, and the people believing the devil or Satan and witches were responsible and attacking the whole city. The same hysteria issue is related to 9/11. Other characters in the crucible include: Reverend John Hale, Elizabeth Proctor, Reverend Parris, Rebecca Nurse, Francis Nurse, Judge Danforth, Giles Corey, Thomas Putnam, Ann Putnam, Ruth Putnam, Tituba, Mary Warren, Betty Parris, Ezekiel Cheever, Judge Hathorne, Herrick, and Mercy Lewis.

The hysteria here is played on the country and particularly New York City being attack by the act of terrorist. striking fear into everyone never knowing what could happen next due to this sudden misfortune. The event that spurred the hysteria in the crucible were the minister's daughters and other girls were dealing with seizures which caused them to be unconscious, while people believed their sickness was due to the devil that's been causing all of the hardships and misfortunes to the city of Salem.

The crucible didn't alter the course of history, but the witch trials did. In fact, there is no real evidence about how the crucible changed history, but the Salem witch trials change the course of history into witch false accusations were being made which made courts in he future make evidence relevant to prove accusations.

9/11 alter the course of history into which the country's security was much more sufficient, and people looking into high theats of what could happen next.
Conclusion
The mass hysteria(a Threat affecting a group of people caused by fear) of the crucible and 9/11 brought up upon people's attention into a new fear that spread to an threat. the people to be involved of both of these topics were those of anxiety that had been spread in the place of where the hysteria begun. certain events spurred to the hysteria to begun such as an attack or a sudden misfortune(an unfortunate event) such as the planes hitting the towers of the world trade center and the unexplained events in The crucible that lead to the witch trials.
