It's the Most Wonderful Time of Year
As we look past the stilted Thanksgiving conversations with the human conspiracy theory Facebook wall that is Uncle Bert, we gaze forward to the winter holidays! The lights are twinkling, there’s the tinniest of nips in the air, and plans are being made for Spring semester. For many of us the winter break will serve as a time of reflection and research, seeking answers to what we should major in and what we will do post university. There might be a temptation to become overwhelmed and despondent, but there are plenty of resources available to you in the Career Center. This is not, as our dear friend Clark Griswold would say, the time for a “full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency”, but instead a great time to come to the Career Center and receive some assistance. The wait is short, and help is willfully given.
The Career Center will be operating regularly till the Dec. 9th 2016 (7:45 AM – 4:45 PM and Drop-Ins offered from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, open during lunch). Starting Dec. 12th the Career Center will be closed during the lunch hour, 11:45 AM – 12:45 PM, Drop-Ins will be offered from 9:00 AM – 11:45 AM and 12:45 PM – 4:00 PM. The Career Center will close on Dec. 21st and reopen January 4th.
Pathways | auburn.edu/career/pathways
Pathways allow students to explore majors at Auburn University. Each Pathway was jointly written with the academic unit and Career Center. Pathways will show you key gateway courses that you will need as you progress through your four years of study, who you should be seeking assistance from, ways you can gain experience in your field, and how to get involved on campus within your field. Pathways will also showcase three potential positions you could obtain, their entry level education required, and entry level salary ranges. As you explore options during the holiday, be sure to look at your prospective majors.
