LCAP Stakeholder Engagement Meetings
LCAP Goal/Action 4.8 - Parent & Community Engagement
The annual series of LCAP Stakeholder Engagement meetings continued on Tuesday, February 11, with a meeting at San Vicente School. Over 50 parents turned out for the meeting which began with a general session presented by Principal Jaime Calderon. Parents then went to two goal sessions held in six classrooms designated for each LCAP Goal. In each goal group, parents were presented with data relevant to the specified goal and the current actions to support that goal. At San Vicente, some of the suggestions were Summer School offered at all schools, offer more vocational training to students (ROP), parent training on how to do common core, incentives for attendance, parking lot safety, PIQE and Girls Inc. at SV.
The Frank Ledesma School Stakeholder Engagement meeting was held on February 13, and followed a similar process. The meeting generated several strong suggestions including to increase 6th grade visitations to MSMS, additional training for supervisors, interview parents/parent surveys, and more resource teachers.
At the end of the evening at both schools, parents were invited to complete the LCAP Parent Survey.
