Message from Mr. Cook - Social Media and Our Students
Parents and guardians, I ask that you take the time to talk to your students about social media. This last month we had several students making messes and attempting to clog toilets and sinks based on a Tic Toc that told students to vandalize their school bathrooms. This specific Tic Toc went on with many more inappropriate things and suggestions to do at school over the next several months. I ask that you as the adult talk to your kids about, “just because you see something on social media that it does not mean that it is real or that it should be done”. Please help your students make appropriate choices at school. We talk to your students about our 4 school rules, STAR: Safe, Trustworthy, Achieve, and Respectful. Damaging school property is not acting safe, it is not being trustworthy, it does not help others or yourself achieve, and it does not show respect to the school or others. Thank you for taking the time to talk to your students about social media and how we need to be good consumers of it. We need to make our own choices and not allow social media to influence how we will act at school or in public.
AM Drop off and PM Pickup
PM Pickup: If you are going to be doing parent pick up, please email sw_attendance@ycs.wednet.edu before 2:00 pm. We will then have your student in the cafeteria waiting for their name to be called. Parents will form a line in the front of the building and will need to show their ID to have their students called out. After 2:00 pm, we can not make any changes unless it is an extreme emergency. We will begin parent pick up at the end of the student day, 3:05 pm.
Chromebooks & Headphones
Also, please have your student bring a personal set of headphones/earbuds in a bag with their name on them to keep at school.

Needs Assessment
Greetings Southworth Families!
Welcome back to a new school year! While there is a lot to be excited about, we also understand there are many needs and challenges represented amongst our students and their families. Our counselor, Mr. Harrison, has provided a survey as an opportunity for you to let us know if there are specific ways we can be of further assistance to make the beginning of the year even better! Both school and community based resources, services and referral opportunities are included. We encourage you to open the link at the end of this message to view and fill out the survey if we can be of help at this time. Thank you for your time and teamwork in supporting our amazing Southworth Star students!
