Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Opportunity
The Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership State Leadership Seminar is an opportunity for high school sophomores to explore their leadership potential through our inspiring leadership development programs. This multi-day program is proven to provide students with an experience that cultivates personal growth and leadership development while building new connections and friendships throughout the state. Students return from HOBY with a deeper sense of self-awareness, elevated confidence, and the inspiration and tools to give back to their communities through leadership and service.
State Leadership Seminars are three-to-four day residential programs, typically held on a college or university campus. Virtual Leadership Seminars are two-to-three day live online programs that allow students to participate from the safety of their home without the need to travel. Regardless of format, HOBY Leadership Seminars are highly interactive programs, following our leadership development curriculum which allows students to discover leadership from a personal, group and socially responsible perspective.
Saucon Valley High School is now accepting applications and will select one 10th grade student to attend the Seminar this summer. The State Leadership Seminar will take place starting in early-mid June. Students will be required to attend the seminar in its entirety. The cost of the program is paid for by the School District. After each seminar, HOBY alumni are challenged to complete 100 hours of community service within the next year as a way to put their passion and newly built leadership skills into action.
