Brain Based Learning

Please join us for a professional learning opportunity presented by Marilee Sprenger, aka the "brainlady." Merilee is a highly regarded educator, presenter, and author who has taught students from prekindergarten through graduate school. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology and stays on top of the latest brain research. She is passionate about brain research-based teaching strategies. Illinois Valley Reading Council invites you to come and learn ways to "wire the brain for success" in literacy learning.

"Webinar at the Theater"

Mark your calendars for a viewing of an upcoming IRC Webinar at the Morton Cinemas. On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, IVRC has rented a theater for a group showing of the webinar " CAFE Instruction Model: Assessment through Instruction" by Gail Boushey and Allison Behne. Wear your comfy clothes and enjoy concessions while learning with friends. Registration will begin at 6:00, webinar at 7:00, along with a pre- and post viewing discussion session. Professional development of 2 hours will be available.

Please consider running for an office for the Executive Board of Illinois Valley Reading Council. Serving on this board is rewarding and offers valuable opportunities to make a difference in the world of literacy. Offices available for 2019-2020 program year include vice-president, secretary, treasurer, and membership chairperson.
