  • The monkey's paw symbolizes fate because you cant tamper wit the chain of events in your life.
  • When the match went out as the knocking began symbolizes something bad is about to happen.

When the solider explains that he too had his 3 wishes but, doesn't tell them his wish's because he regretted them.
