Retirees

We are sad to say goodbye to several East staff members who have served our school community well during their tenure in education! Jay McKelvey, Joyce Wille, Tommy Herbst, Karen Seeland and Cheryl Basile - we wish you safety, health, and happiness as you move forward on your next adventure.

  • Jay McKelvey (thank you for always doing what was needed of you in your role as an educator). I appreciated your patience and demeanor to connect with your students. You taught your students the importance of accountability. You’ve had a tremendous career as a Raider….student, athlete, and teacher. You embody the ideals inherent in character and excellence Jay, and I am very proud to have worked with you for so many years.
  • Joyce Willie (thank you for always being so kind and helpful to others). Joyce worked at East as our District Athletic Secretary. She was always efficient and effective at her work. I appreciated Joyce’s ability to make personal connections with others in a very challenging job. You always came to work with a smile and willingness to do your job to the best of your ability.
  • Tommy Herbst (thank you for keeping our building safe). I appreciated your commitment to support student and staff needs while balancing the difficult line of accountability. You always seemed to make things work and support those most in need. You helped to foster positive student relationships through your daily contact with our students.

  • Karen Seeland - (thank you for always directing your students to act with integrity). I appreciated your consistent message to do your best each and every day. Your students respected you and you have made a tremendous difference in the lives of your children!
  • Cheryl Basile - (thank you for always providing the support needed to keep students focused on their learning). I appreciated your energy to come to school and give your best every day!

Summer School Tuition Assistance

Toms River Regional Schools is dedicated to the academic success of its students. As our community continues to recover from the challenges of the pandemic, we realize that many families are in need of financial assistance to pay for tuition based programs within our district such as Summer School Credit Recovery courses through Educere.

The district has received funding from the federal government that may be applied to assist these circumstances and provide our students with fulfilling their academic needs.

Please complete the following information so that we may better provide financial assistance to those families who qualify.
