AMCMS Principal's Office
What is going on in the Principal's Office?
My Challenge to You
Take a couple of minutes to read the above story about Shannon Long. For those of you who do not know Shannon, she is the instructional technology coordinator for the entire district. You probably see emails from her all the time sharing great Ed Tech info, memes, and helping remind us of things we need to get done...like entering grades :o)
You may not have know that a couple of years ago Shannon had brain surgery. The above story is related to that part of her life. I am sharing this with you because this is such a wonderful example of how one person can make all the difference in the world. Her attitude and approach with life and the many issues we deal with in life is so positive and uplifting that even in the midsts of bad news or circumstances, Shannon will find the positive.
I know that the end of the spring semester is difficult and the looming STAAR test week is stressful. Please remember that your attitude and frame of mind about everything, each day, will go a long way in determining how things go. Now, go and make it happen!
Think. Achieve. Succeed.
Jeff

AMCMS SPED Tip of the Week
Did you know that movement is a research-based strategy for teaching?
Some positive effects of movement include the following:
- improved engagement
- improved retention
- improved behavior
- more creativity
- improved health
- opportunities for socialization
- opportunities to teach soft skills
Movement in the classroom will not only benefit our special education students but can benefit ALL students!
How will you incorporate movement into your classroom this week?
Academic Tip of the Week
Try This
Associate vocabulary words to a graphic representation or an example to help with word meanings. Have them create drawings or find images that reflect the meaning of the word to help them to better understand and connect the word to the work.
Wellness Tip of the Week
Do you feel like you struggle with your own creativity or inspiration? Try doing something creative for five minutes everyday. Draw a quick picture with colored pencils just for fun or write a short poem. Even the smallest burst of creativity may inspire you.
Technology Tip of the Week
Do you find yourself sending the same email out over and over. Save yourself some time with a canned response. You can set it up in your gmail account. Click here to see how.
