MERRY CHRISTMAS!
White Elephant Gift
REMINDER -- Our class will be having a White Elephant Gift Exchange on Tuesday, December 22nd before we dismiss for the Christmas break. If students want to participate, they can bring a "recycled gift" (value of less than $5) that they would like to exchange. Gifts can be silly, or odd, but must be appropriate for school. Students are not required by any means to bring a white elephant gift and should not go out and buy a gift!

Students always ask me if they should keep writing down their practice minutes over the Christmas break. The answer is, YES! But I understand that some students might not have as many minutes to report over the holidays. We are also going to be very busy at our house, and there are many obligations to attend to, as well as sneaking in a little relaxation. Here’s what I recommend:
Set a reasonable goal for practicing over the break (ie: practice three times, practice for 30 minutes a week, practice 100 minutes total for the break, etc…) Then, keep track of your minutes on the practice record just like always (remember, each box on the practice record is a day of the calendar) and see how close you come to your goal. If you meet it, great! If you don’t, we’ll start fresh in the New Year!
Students should have either two or three weeks’ worth of minutes to report when they come back in January, and, yes, there will be some zeroes. Practicing is the perfect solution when your student is “bored” and doesn’t have “anything to do.” Have you ever heard that before?!?!
