Una nota de la Sra. Larson/ A note from Mrs. Larson

McKinley Family,

What a great week we had! I loved seeing all of the students dressed up for Halloween and the fantastic activities that each class planned to make Friday fun for all. The PACS dance was amazing, and I am so happy that our 7th/8th graders could have a memorable night. It was beautiful to see how happy they all were. Thank you to all the parents that donated and helped with all of the class parties and dances.

I wanted to make sure you are all aware that this week is a typical full week of school. That means that starting next week; we will begin conferences. Below are all the details for the next two weeks.

Finally, we are excited to announce some improvements to the McKinley School website! The updated website will include more video content and better ADA accessibility. Though the look and feel are being updated, none of the menus or content are changing at this time, so you should still be able to find what you’re looking for.

Thank you all for the support that you give; it is much appreciated.

Warm regards,

Mrs. Larson

Food Collection

My name is Daniella Skye and I am a sixth-grader here at McKinley. Recently, I have done some volunteer work at Redwood Empire Food Bank.* This past Thanksgiving, I did a food drive in my neighborhood. We collected over 200 pounds of food, in one neighborhood! That is a lot of families fed. This year, I want to go bigger, and imagine how much food you could get with a school full of families!

I am going to get barrels from the Food Bank, and place them in the breezeway near the office. It would be great if you could donate some food there! It will start on October 25th, and end on November 19th, so if you are going to donate, please do it before November 19th! After that, we will drive the food up to the Food Bank. They accept canned foods and foods that won’t go stale quickly, like boxed items, and no glass!** We are hoping to get around 400 pounds of food; please help us reach our goal! Thank you so much!
