Happy Thanksgiving!
As I reflect on what I am are thankful for this thanksgiving season, a huge piece of my gratefulness goes towards the New Prospect Family! I want to specifically thank the parents for the support and patience you have shown me during my transition to principal. There are not enough words to express my gratitude for the way you have made me a part of the New Prospect Family. I am so happy to wake up every morning and come to this place I now call home. Thank you for trusting me with your kids each day. Thank you for prioritizing our school by showing support in so many ways. Those ways might range from being on our PTA board, our SGC board, being a part of the PTA, having a table at our Taste of New Prospect, volunteering at an event or even just making sure your child gets to bed on time so they are the best they can be when they are here…I appreciate you! Being with your children makes me so happy!
Below you will see some pictures of some of the ways we have been celebrating our gratitude at school this week!
I hope you and your family have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
With Love,
Amy Lemons
Principal

Panther Pride Project Fundraiser
The word is officially out about our school’s fundraiser this year! We are excited to give back to anyone who donates to our school by giving them the Shopping Boss experience. The best way that I can describe Shopping Boss that it is an app on your phone that you register for with a donation, from there you can get cash back at national stores, restaurants and even airlines. For example, every time I take George (my puppy) to get groomed I get $4 cash back (6%). I have already earned 100’s of dollars on things I would have bought normally. Other places that give %’s back are Under Armor, Macy’s, Kohls, Bed Bath and Beyond, AMC, Nike, Old Navy, Home Depot….and the list goes on.
Overall, we have not had the best participation this week. We only have had about 15% of our families participate. Thank you for the ones who have participated! It is hard for me to hear this news from PTA mostly because I was the one that encouraged them to do something a bit different this year to reach out beyond the walls of our school for support. I did this because I see the need in our classrooms and I know our NPE parents already do so much! To fully complete our classroom libraries, it is going to cost around $35,000. To get 5 more iPads in all K-2 classrooms (to make the total 10) it would cost $8,000. The extra stuff we need to take our learning to the next level is SO expensive. Again, we are not asking for you to donate…we know that the NPE parents help in every single way that they can. We are asking that you help your child try to get donations from friends, family or Facebook acquaintances and give them something SO COOL in return.
Please consider making our fundraiser a success and let me know if you have any questions.

CCRPI
The CCRPI is Georgia’s statewide accountability system that replaced the No Child Left Behind’s Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) measurement after the U.S. Department of Education granted Georgia’s waiver from NCLB in 2012. CCRPI measures schools and school districts on a 100-point scale, with overall scored made up of three major areas: Achievement (50 points possible), Progress (40 points possible) and Achievement Gap (10 points possible).
New Prospects' score is currently at an 89. Please see the Power Point below for more information on the specifics of our score. Although our score went down from last year, we are not worried at all. We are confident that we are doing all the right work and will continue to grow on the path that we are on.
Our SGC and school leadership team is always working on coming up with ways to make our student achievement and growth increase here at NPE. We are very excited for this data to helps us continue to make the right decisions for all of our students!

The professional staff at New Prospect Elementary School will review performance on system-level diagnostic assessments, standardized test data, student grades, and the teacher’s recommendation for placement. Students that pass the screening criteria will be tested for further advancement and/or acceleration.
