Scott Schnappauf, Post-Secondary Teacher of the Year!
Message from Jeff and Yolanda
The week prior to Spring Break was busy one with a group of students completing the Nursing Assisting program, Scott Schnappauf being named post-secondary teacher of the year and the Prom Expo.
The juniors and seniors put on a show for the student body! Our annual Prom Expo was a huge hit and viewed by over 400 people during the two shows on Friday. Over 50 models shared the runway and certainly inspired the crowd to want to participate in the prom and prom expo in future years. This annual fundraiser, run by the senior class, helps to cover the cost of the prom location, dance floor, decorations, etc. A lot of hard work goes into planning the event, pairing up the models, practicing down the walkway and promotion of the event.
The success of the event would not be possible without the support of wonderful community members who help with the dresses and tuxedos for the Prom Expo. Eudine from Eudine's Bridal Shop fits and lends the dresses to the models for the show. Men's Warehouse on Immokalee Road allows the guys to borrow the suits and tuxedo's and also offers the students a 20% off rental for the day of prom. There is also a generous donor, Dee Almond, who selects three female students and takes them on a shopping spree to Ft. Myers to buy their dress, shoes, and accessories for prom. She graciously spends $500 on each girl. And what Prom Expo would be complete without having your hair and make-up done. Thank you to Susan Resatar and the cosmetology students for being a part of the success. The girls really enjoyed being the salon experience!
The fundraiser was more than just a financial success (over $900 raised) because it brought the school together to promote school spirit and pride. It was a great way include the PBS initiative in conjunction with a school-wide event. Students were able to pay their entry fee with Mustang Bucks and then enjoy snacks as they applauded and cheered on their peers. Thank you to all of the teachers who promoted this to students in your classrooms. It was a great way to end the week before spring break! Hopefully you’ve had a restful break and are ready for a busy 4th quarter of the school year.
We look forward to seeing you Monday morning. Bagels, fruit, coffee and juice will be available starting at 8:00 a.m. in Mustang Alley.

Biggest Losers!
Drum roll please – the Biggest Loser competition has concluded and campus-wide 14 contestants lost more than 70 pounds since mid-January. Final “biggest losers” are Armando Padillo and Dulcie Neiman. Our school nurse has offered to keep the weigh-ins going, if you need a little positive reinforcement. See Sue in the high school on Wednesdays and she’ll help keep you accountable and on track.
