Hoisting the Anchor on 2015

It seems as if every year you ask yourself, "It is Christmas time ALREADY?" It sure is, and the Raleigh/Cary DG Alumnae Association is excited about celebrating the season! We had a GREAT November of service and sisterhood, and we have more alumnae contacting us wanting to get involved. Our favorite kind of emails! Be sure to remember to "Do Good" this holiday season-whether it be holding the door for someone, paying for a Starbucks drink for the person behind you in the drive-up lane, or giving some time to a local women's or homeless shelter. We look forward to celebrating with everyone in a few days and we wish you all the happiest of holidays with your loved ones!

Are you "LinkedIn?"

The Raleigh/Cary DG Alumnae Association is hoping to build a great network for our senior Eta Kappa collegians. Would you be willing to send us your LinkedIn profile to share? We plan on providing the seniors with a list of alumnae profiles, then in turn sending out a resource to you all with the collegian profiles for further networking. We will send out a separate email to all come January. We are excited for this new collaboration with the collegians!

Time to Pay Your Dues!

We would like to thank you for your ongoing support of the Delta Gamma Fraternity and the Raleigh/Cary Alumnae Association. Our new year is underway and it is time to renew your dues membership. Dues are vital to provide programming, alumnae activities, special events and offset the operational costs.

How to pay

Please follow the "Pay Now" button emailed directly to you in the "Dues Reminder from Raleigh/Cary Delta Gamma Alumnae Association" sent on September 26. If you did not receive this email or wish to pay via check, please email me atraleighdgfinance@gmail.com. If you know your DG login, you can also login tohttps://www.deltagamma.org/members/login and use the "pay dues" link on the left toolbar.

Delta Gamma Fun FAQs

Our actual Founders Day is Christmas Day. After exchanging gifts and imagining what they would do if they were with their families, Anna, Eva, and Mary made plans for a club they were thinking of launching. They had a young male cousin who was a member of a Greek-letter fraternity at the University of Mississippi and the women had heard his friends arguing the good and bad points of being in such an organization. A name was decided upon, initiation was set for after the holiday, and Anna led the three women in writing the first Bylaws and Constitution of Delta Gamma.

Both Eva Webb Dodd and Mary Comfort Leonard told Delta Gamma audiences many times that their concept for the fraternity originally did not extend beyond their school and Oxford.
