March is Reading Month Kick-Off
"PAWS" for a great book moment!
Here at Ling and Hemlock Elementary schools, we have begun our weekly PAWS for a Great book moment. Every Friday a student or teacher from one of our schools recommends a great book that they have read and their recommendation is shared through a video. This week's recommendation comes from 3rd Grader Emma Jaremba. She recommended the book: Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Third Wheel written and illustrated by Jeff Kinney. She enjoyed this book because it is funny and interesting and tells of a middle school boy's experience with his first Valentine's Day Dance. If you would like to read it check out your local library.
Author Johnathan Rand is Coming to Ling Elementary Tuesday, March 5th!
We are excited to announce that author Johnathan Rand is coming to Ling Elementary on March 5th as part of March is Reading Month. He is the author of more than 100 books with over 6 million copies in print, including the wildly popular American Chillers, Michigan Chillers, Freddie Fernortner, Fearless First Grader, and the ALL NEW Dollar $tore Danny series! Your child will be bringing home a flyer today if they are interested in ordering books. All books ordered in advance will be signed by the author.

A special thank you....
A special thank you to Tina Tausch, PTO Co-President, who has been our book fair coordinator for the past 2 years. This spring will be her last one, so we are looking for someone or a small group to take on book fair. If you are interested, please send us a message or comment. Spring book fair would be a great chance to learn the ropes.
