FRAUD
Intentional deception for gain
WHAT FRAUD LOOKS LIKE
1. Phishing & Smishing
- Fake email to get someone to give out their personal/account information
2. Retail/Auction Fraud
- Buy something online but don't receive the bought item
3. Work at Home
- Pay for a kit for "easy" job from home
HOW TO AVOID FRAUD
1. Do not reply to the emails with personal information
2. Research the institutions that you are buying from; Look at customer ratings
3. If it looks too good to be true, it probably is, so don't do whatever the email is saying to do
4. Learn more about fraud
