Seuss Week Was a Success!
Thanks to all that participated in our snow shortened Seuss Week. It was great to see people get all dressed up. Mrs. Mulligan's class won our Trivia Contest and will be getting Cookies and juice form me this week. Walter in Mrs. Meek's class won our goldfish estimation. Mrs. Meek won the teacher M&M estimation prize and Aaliyah Boyd correctly identified all 6 of the Dr. Seuss book titles. Below are a few pictures I thought you might enjoy!
Mrs. Mendez helped her students participate in Seuss day by making something for each student to wear.

Don't hate me...I haven't figured out how to flip the pictures on Smore yet..
Our Onesearch Databases give you access to not only the Henrico subsrciption to Tumblebooks but also allows you and your students to access the subscription owned by the Library of Virginia. This a really great deal for us. Their subscription also has access to chapter books and graphic novels to to reach a larger group of students. For those of you who are not familiar with OneSearch, I have included the link below. When going through this link in our building, you will not need a user name and password. If you are working elsewhere, the user name is henrico and the password is library. Once you get to Onesearch, just click on Elementary to get started.
Homework Help for Upper Grades
Are your students struggling to complete homework? Is there someone at home to help them? If not, they can get online homework help from a real live teacher! The service is provided by Henrico County Public Library and the Library of Virginia. It can be accessed through our Onesearch databases as well. I hope to send home the website and more detailed information next week. In the meantime, you can check it out using the same link for Onesearch. This is an awesome way for students to get a little extra help.
