April 5 - Join us for a Community Viewing of the documentary Most Likely to Succeed
We know the world is changing and thus high school should prepare our young people to meet the challenge. I have had the pleasure of watching this documentary (see flyer below) and visiting High Tech High, which is featured in the film. I encourage you to attend this special night as we continue the conversation within our community about the possibilities for our Patriots as they experience high school The Pike Road Way.

Learners studied themes in Number the Stars. They created a
message in a bottle to display symbolism and share a point in
the story in which a character learned an important lesson.
Learners made comparisons between an atomic bomb and other
types of bombs by observing a grain of rice and dropped egg.
Welcome Sara Sanford - Collaborating Artist
This program is all about working closely with the student and essentially introducing them to dance. Today for example we studied the elements of a Ballet. Some more topics discussed were:
- Movement quality,
- Pantomime (telling a story in dance without words),
- Jobs beyond dance: choreographer, artistic director, rehearsal coach, lighting designer, scenic designer, and prop manager.
The first week is a whirlwind of topics to immerse ourselves in the wonderful world of dance and all that it entails. The program will evolve throughout the month. Very soon, we will be getting up and moving around and beginning to explore our own artistry related to the current topic set forth by the lead learners.
This program is immersive and inspiring to me. I truly enjoy watching the process and seeing how the children essentially take all that I give them into their own hands and make something very special. I can't wait for you guys to see it!

Pike Road Papas
Pike Road Papas has been informally meeting every Friday morning as a result of parents responding to invitations in the PRS Newsletters. We have been eating breakfast with our children in the cafeteria. However, Pike Road Papas is not just for Dads; it is for families.
We are going to have two appreciation days for those who work with the children of PRS. We entrust our children to lead learners, as well as Administrators, but many of us have also noticed the care and interaction given to these little ones by the cafeteria staff, the aides, and the resource staff to make our children’s learning experiences a positive, lasting one.
As a result, we are going to take some time on April 15th, at our Friday morning breakfast to say, “Thank you!” Nothing big, just a time to say thanks to those who are making this positive impact on our children’s lives. Please join us on April 15th at 7:00 a.m. if you are a lead learner in Communities K-4.
We will have a time to do this for Communities 5-8 in May – the date and details coming soon.
Join us at 7:00 a.m. in the PRS Cafeteria, so we can eat and listen to those who would like to share their words of thanks!
God Bless and see you soon.
