BCCA MESSENGER January, 2021
Harmoniously blending the work of redemption and education
Hello Church and School Families,
I hope the holidays have treated you all well! As we look at the new year, we have hope that it will be better than 2020. As covid still looms, it can make many people feel anxious. It can be a faith builder as we learn to trust God more or it can make a person lose faith. As staying at home orders increase, depression can also set it by being cut off from those we love. However it makes us feel, it is important to remember that no matter what happens to us on this earth, our permanent residence is being set up in heaven.
Covid, among other things in life, can be a big distraction from keeping our eyes on Jesus. There are even good things that distract us from Jesus. We must remember to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus. Good or bad distractions can have the same effect. A good new year's resolution would be to fix our eyes on Jesus more this year than the last. A few concrete steps should be developed to ensure we all do this. It can be as easy as setting aside a specific amount of time to read the Bible each day or set the alarms on our phones to remind us to pray throughout the day. An easy way we do this at BCCA is through Bible classes, weekly worships from Pastor Randy, and getting together as an entire school each morning to pray.
Let's make 2021 a year when we focus on Jesus and not let other things get in the way!
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Happy New Year!

BCCA Christmas Program
The Big Cove Christian Academy students put on a beautiful performance for the annual Christmas program. This year's program was entitled "Noel". Through scripture narrative excerpts, and the use of stick ministry, the story of Christ's birth was presented eloquently by the students. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day a blessing, and to our school family and friends for supporting this event. Special thanks to our BCCA teachers Wendy and Melissa Boyd, for their time and commitment to bringing glory to God through music.

UPDATE: BCCA Calendar Fundraiser
Thank you BCCA families for your support and generosity with our calendar fundraiser. This year we focused on engaging our students in scenes that were beautifully shot and arranged from your favorite stories in the Bible. Collectively, we sold 103 calendars totaling $1,030 in sales! BCCA will get half of the funds which will be used towards advertising and marketing of the school. Enjoy!

Great and Wonderful Things
Never before in our lifetime have we seen a time like today. Never have we started a new year with a virus that has upended the lives of virtually everyone on the planet and ended the lives of roughly 1.5 million people around the world. Someone has said: Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% how you respond to it, how you approach it, how you see it. So, how do you see the new year? I’d like to share with you one reason you should see great and wonderful things in the new year. It’s because you are “blessed.”
Ephesians 1:3
All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ. NLT
As you look ahead this new year, count your blessings. Refuse to allow what happens to you overcome what happens in you. You can do it because you are blessed.
Love Always,
Pastor Randy Mills
