December 2020
Guidance Department Newsletter
We made it to December and the first marking period is OVER! Second marking period started November 16th. As we continue with quarter 2, we hope that you have gotten use to the flow of school. Three quarters to go--you got this!
November was very busy. Miss D and Mr. Pritchard were in classrooms talking about: Xello, resiliency, PTECH, HFM BOCES Career and Tech Center, and have led activities having students reflect on what drives them to keep going each day.
This month students are creating ornaments for the Bright Spot Tree. The Bright Spot Tree is a dedication to those who have been a "bright spot" in our students' lives. Want to create more than one ornament? Come on down to the Guidance Office!
Take the time during the holiday recess to reset, reflect, and RELAX! Enjoy this last month of 2020 and lets go into 2021 with a positive outlook and some new goals!
Friendly Reminder!
Five week progress reports will be posted Wednesday December 23. Grades are due by Friday December 18! Take advantage of your teachers' office hours if you need more support with your classes!

Action for Happiness' December Kindness Challenge
"2020 has been a difficult year in so many ways. We have suffered with uncertainty, anxiety, isolation and challenges with our financial situation, health or relationships. One thing that can hold us together and help us get through is kindness. Although we can't change our situation, we can choose to respond to others (and ourselves) with kindness. And when we're kind, everything goes better. We help others, we help ourselves and we encourage others to be kinder too." (Action for Happiness, 2020, https://www.actionforhappiness.org/december)
