A Message From Dr. Ricks
Parents and Friends,
It's been rainy outside, but warm inside from all the learning and fun activities going on. Bulletin boards were initially a bit bare when we came back from school as Christmas was taken down, but new art and writing have gone up. Fourth graders finished a wonderful "Winter Warm-ups" creative writing project, the second graders are busy researching their biographies, and Kindergarten and First Grade students have been working with all the fun activities that go along with celebrating the 100th Day of School!
We had a fabulous time at our Black Out Pep Rally, and a special thank you to Portico Ruston for providing the baked potatoes for our PTF sponsored Teacher Appreciation luncheon.
Next Friday is our annual Family Fun Basketball Night. We have lots of information in this week's Weekly Words, so please read on! We would love to have you bring friends who want to have fun and spend time with our great Grace family!
Have a wonderful weekend,
Dr. Beth J. Ricks

Wellness for Parents:
School Conference Room Sundays Jan 22-Feb 12.
There is no greater joy, challenge, or responsibility in this life than that of being a parent. It is truly a gift and an honor to be charged with giving a child a sure foundation. When parents are doing well, they have a better chance of giving their children such a start. How are parents supposed to know what it takes to parent well?
With all there is to do as parents, finding time for self-care can be difficult. Therefore, the idea of parenting wellness may seem to be out of reach. Parents and families are pulled in many different directions today. Because of this, it is more important than ever for parents to have a compass to help them find their way and to keep themselves and their families heading in a positive direction.
Please join us on Sundays, January 22 through February 12 for this 4 week, scripturally based class on wellness and parenting. The class is open to anyone who finds themselves involved with raising or caring for children of all ages. There will be concurrent activities for your children in the Upper Room (on the third floor of the school administration building) which will include breakfast. We will meet at 9:15am in the School Conference Room.
